Fur Cleaning What Not to Do

For over a decades fur coats have been cleaned with a fur cleaning solution mixed with saw dust or ground corn cobs, then tumbled  in a fur drum. After drumming, the fur garment was steamed, and a fur glazing solution was gently sprayed on the fur to give it a luster and soft feel.

The fur coats today are tanned differently than they were for decades. The leather cannot take the same stress as it did in previous years. Drumming a fur can cause the fur to weaken over time .

We gently spray on our very own biodegradable cleaning  , which cleans the fur and adds the softness and luster to the hair, without putting any stress on your fur. After the cleaning solution is applied, we gently steam the fur with low pressure steam so no damage can occur.

This process fur cleaning process should be done once a year for the life of the fur coat.
